Inorganic waste of the chemical industry - technological foresight

Implementation period: 2010 - 2012

The project’s actions were co-financed from the European Regional Development Fund in The Innovative Economy Operational Programme 2007-2013, measure 1.1 Support for scientific research for establishment of a knowledge-based economy, sub-measure 1.1.1 Research projects using the foresight method. The goal of the project was to identify and estimate needs, possibilities and threats connected with the inorganic industry development in Poland until 2030 in context of following it waste. That aspect could appear to be decisive for the development of this industrial brand and even for maintaining all existing product assortments produced by the industry. The subject of considerations are: waste economy analysis, new and existing research directions providing to economically friendly technologies which generate less and less difficult economic exploitable waste. The analysis results of the previous state and the most possible scenarios of the waste economy of inorganic industry generated under different marginal conditions are donated to decision-makers in government and economic administration as well as to all interested. The results should serve to preparation appropriate preceding acts in the economic area and should be used to creating and subsequently to achievement the scientific and innovative politics in the researched area. The Progress and Business Foundation implemented the project in the scientific consortium with Fertilizers Research Institute Division of Inorganic Chemistry in Gliwice (coordinator) and Institute of Environmental Protection in Warsaw.
